Biography
Born in Aomori, Japan.
Moved to Beppu City in 1999 to study bamboo crafts.
Studied under Hisao Hayano.
Experienced assisting the work of various senior craftsmen.
Became independent in 2007.
Certified as a traditional craftsman in 2015.

What inspired you to get into this work?
He was attracted by the beauty of bamboo crafts when he happened to see them on TV.
What do you want to appeal the most in your work?
I hope to create something that can be used more and more as a favorite, rather than just to be admired. I hope they will add a little color to our daily lives.
What do you keep in mind when creating your work?
I hope that people will be able to use them in their daily lives without being overbearing.
I take care in selecting and working with materials so that the beauty of the white bamboo and the weave can be appreciated and used for a long time.
What do you want to achieve from now on? Or how do you want to live?
I hope to create something that will make you feel the beauty of Beppu bamboo crafts that I saw for the first time.
I continue to search for what I can make that people can feel the beauty of bamboo crafts while using it in their daily lives.
