Biography
Born in Kawatsure Lacquer Ware Studio.
Trained at the Wajima Lacquer Art Technical Training Institute for 5 years.
Worked in the family business as a chinkin-shi.
Certified as a traditional craftsman in 2019.
Awards
Awarded the Tohoku Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry Director-General's Prize at the 22nd Japan Traditional Craftsmen's Association Works Exhibition.

What inspired you to get into this work?
When I was a high school student, I observed a class of Mr. Fumio Mae, a Living National Treasure of Chinkin with my father and was shown a trial engraving of his work! I was so excited.
What do you want to appeal the most in your work?
Chinkin is a technique that cannot be redone.

What do you keep in mind when creating your work?
I make comfortable works that you can feel the warmth of handmade work.
