Profile
What inspired you to get into this work?
I decided to learn Hakata textile after watching the NHK Fukuoka regional drama "Hakata Hataoto" and sent an application to Hakata Textile Development College.
What do you want to appeal the most in your work?
I make hand-woven obi belts with the traditional pattern known as Hakata-ori, the "dedication" pattern. Our goal is to create pieces that reflect the world's current situation while respecting traditional culture.
What do you keep in mind when creating your work?
I love the obis I make and feel happy myself.
I would like to make products that are more familiar to people in various situations, from those who feel a sense of melancholy about Hakata-ori to those who see it for the first time.
What do you want to achieve from now on? Or how do you want to live?
I would like to continue weaving for a long time!
