Profile

What inspired you to get into this work?

I was born in a store owned by a lacquer craftsman, and decided to take over the family business because it seemed fun and rewarding to be able to express myself freely with lacquer and to have my products appreciated by customers.

What do you want to appeal the most in your work?

Lacquerware that makes the most of delicate hand carving

The moist feel of the handmade lacquer. The lacquer changes beautifully as it is used.

The color of the lacquer we create with great care

What do you keep in mind when creating your work?

Devise each item to be a usable item according to the item to be made.

Carefully crafted to be beautifully finished and durable for use.

What do you want to achieve from now on? Or how do you want to live?

We will also focus on publicity activities so that Murakami wood carving Tsuishu will be known and used by many people so that the technique will be handed down as a traditional craft.

It was a good experience for me to participate in this valuable occasion. I would like to study hard so that I can participate in the event when it is held again.
