1946 Born in Tokyo, Japan
1966 Obtained national license as a beautician
1973 Studied under her husband, Minoru Ueda. Started yuzen creation activities.
1974 Establishes dyeing studio "Ueda Kobo".
Belongs to Tokyo Dyeing Cooperative Association
1998 "Couple Exhibition" at Musée Bourgogne-Laurent, France
1999: Certified as a traditional yuzen craftsman by the Tokyo Traditional Craftsmen's Association.

Because she married her husband, who was an apprentice of her brother, a dyeing artist
What do you want to appeal the most in your work?
In order to enhance the beauty of the wearer to the fullest, we create a beautiful total of kimono, obi, accessories, hair style, and even dressing.
What do you keep in mind when creating your work?
We try to express beauty with a sense of three-dimensionality, space, wind, etc.
What do you want to achieve from now on? Or how do you want to live?
I would like to listen carefully to each person's wishes and aim to enhance the beauty of each person.

My husband and I have been engaged in this business for more than 50 years, aiming at yuzen of the heart, but my husband passed away due to illness 13 years ago. Now I draw works that express gratitude using the yuzen technique.
